JACK MARSHALL
Guitar & Vocals

'I always loved country music and grew up listening to a lot of the traditional artists, Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Jimmie Rodgers etc. The usual suspects. I also always loved the guitar and had dreams of playing like the players I would hear on my records (Luther Perkins, Don Rich, Chuck Berry etc) . But it wasn't until I discovered the music of Marty Stuart that I went out and bought my first guitar.' JM

It took a long time and a lot of false starts for Jack to finally put a band together. Finding good country players in the UK proved very difficult. Blues or Rock players could be found in relatively plentiful supply, but the same couldn't be said for country musicians. Even more recently after country music started gaining more of a following here, things were no easier, maybe not helped by the fact that it was the older, more traditional area of the genre that is Jack's idea of 'country'.

There where a couple of line-ups that just started getting to the point where discussions could start turning to gigs, when for one reason or another people would announce they were leaving. Then during the Covid pandemic, the one mainstay to that point, Jon Sutton, moved away to Wales. Determined not to give up and to make something work, Jack decided to start again from scratch and once again began the search for common minded country traditionalists. And now, finally, things are headed in the right direction.
